Why Join TALA?

Membership in TALA has many direct and indirect advantages for industry people.  Among the direct benefits include the use of the TALA office facilities, a most important asset to all of our members.  This office is a clearinghouse for information of all sorts.  Lines can be located along with local sales person's phone number.  You can find out the availability of lines in need of presentation. Contacts are made with potential new sources. Facilities are available for private conferences in the Directors' room, which is also used for committee and directors' meetings.  Our very efficient office staff keeps a complete set of records, which enables them to answer many phone and mail inquiries received each day from manufacturers and member seeking information. 

Membership in TALA is quite prestigious, and most of our members find it useful to mention TALA's name in their business contacts.   A TALA member takes pride in the organization and willingly cooperates with TALA in promoting the interests of the West Coast Market and the community in which we work and live.

Among the indirect benefits of membership in TALA is the participation in our social activates.  Our semiannual Playdays and our occasional luncheon meetings, which always feature an interesting entertainment program, give you the opportunity to meet with your fellow members and customers who attend these functions.

How TALA is Governed?

TALA is governed by a Board of Directors, which consists of six officers and at least ten directors.  There is a President. three Vice Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer.  All are elected annually to serve a term of one year.  the directors are elected for a two-year term with the exception of the retiring President who serves on the Board one year after retirement.  The President may serve up to three years consecutively.  In addition to the Board of Directors, the work of TALA is carried on through an Executive Secretary and by a number of permanent and temporary committees and employees.
